Department: Ministry

Dr. Riley is a husband, father of four, music director, assistant pastor, Head of School, and graduate education faculty member for Veritas Baptist College.  He was saved at the age of five and attended a Christian school from preschool all the way to his doctorate.  He has served as an elementary teacher for three years and a head of school for 26 years.  His wife has taught elementary for 25 years, but for the last four years has headed up the special needs department of their Christian school.  Three of the Rileys four children were adopted, and one with severe special needs, which disqualifies him from being able to live independently at this time, so the Rileys are full-time caregivers to an adult son in addition to work and ministry.  This has given the Rileys a deeper passion for special education, and their desire is to assist other Christian schools as they make decisions to start special education programs.  Dr. and Mrs. Riley are available to speak at various conference or even visit schools as available.  Dr. Riley serves as an accreditation evaluator for the Florida Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (FACCS), and the Rileys both help coordinate all of the statewide student competitions for FACCS. The Rileys have three other children, all daughters.  One is in college and the other two still have some time left in high school.  In addition to education ministry, Dr. Riley leads the music ministry at their church, Fort Cooper Baptist Church of Inverness, FL, and Brenda is the church pianist.  Dr. Riley loves spending as much time with his wife and children as possible, loves to travel, and in any leisure time he may have, loves watching planes, trains, and loves cheering for the Miami Dolphins, Miami Heat, Miami Hurricanes, and the Liberty Flames, where his daughter attends and where he earned his doctorate in 2020.  If Dr. Riley can be a help to you in any way, whether in courses he teaches or outside of classes, he would love to chat about your situation.
