Matt Smith has an extensive background in Christian education and music ministry. He spent six years teaching music at Northside Christian School in Louisville, KY, and five years as a music and Bible professor at Shawnee Baptist College in New Albany, IN. For twelve years, he taught music, Bible, and social studies at Valley Baptist Christian School and served as music director for Valley Baptist Church, both in Edinburg, VA. He has also worked for six years as a conference clinician and musician with Bible Truth Music in Smithfield, VA, and played key roles in the Old Dominion Association of Church Schools Band and Choir Festival, serving three years as secretary and six years as president. Since 2012, Matt has been an adjunct faculty member at Veritas Baptist College and holds advanced professional certification in music and Bible from the American Association of Christian Schools. Currently, he is the music director at Shenandoah Baptist Church and principal of Shenandoah Baptist Academy in Cleveland, TN, roles he has held since 2021.
