Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008 Disclosures

The Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008 (HEOA) requires that postsecondary institutions participating in federal student aid programs make certain disclosures to enrolled and prospective students, parents, employees, and the public. The following information is disclosed to you in compliance with federal law.

All academic programs are assessed through a formal Program Review process on a regular basis. In addition to a review of the programs, Veritas continually reviews and assesses the educational programs through student outcomes assessment. The College Navigator provides consistent, comparable, and transparent information on the characteristics of institutions and their students, cost of attendance, success rates, degree offerings, student engagement with the learning process, and core educational outcomes. The information is intended for students, families, policy-makers, campus faculty and staff, the general public, and other higher-education stakeholders.

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) affords students certain rights with respect to their education records. VBC publishes a FERPA notification through Populi that delineates student rights under FERPA. VBC information on confidentiality of student records is published in the college catalog. Those students wanting to allow access to their information to a parent, spouse, or any other relative must complete the FERPA Consent Form.  Paper copies are available upon request.

Constitution Day

Constitution Day commemorates the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution by thirty-nine brave men on September 17, 1787, recognizing all who have become U.S. citizens by birth or by naturalization. You can find more information on Constitution Day by visiting the official website.

Copyright Infringement and Peer-to-Peer File Sharings Policies and Sanctions

Information regarding file sharing and copyright policies and resoures at Veritas is available in our Student Handbook. This includes information on the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and individual rights and responsibilities. VBC is dedicated to maintaining the integrity and survivability of the college’s network; we will act on each notice and investigate each incident to validate reports. Reports of copyright infringement violations should be submitted to Mrs. Rill via email.

Cost of Attendance

Information concerning the cost of attending VBC can be obtained on the college website and also by contacting the Office of Student Financial Aid. These costs consist of tuition and fees, books and supplies, room and board, transportation, and any additional costs for a program in which the student is enrolled or expresses an interest.

Missing Student Policy and Notification Procedures

VBC’s missing student policy and notification procedures to be followed when a VBC student has been reported missing for more than 24 hours are available in the annual VBC security and fire safety report. The report also includes directions for students on how to submit emergency contact and missing person contact information.

Placement of Graduates

The Assessment Office collects information on the postgraduation status of VBC degree recipients. Six-month postgraduation survey statistics for VBC graduates include information on the types of employment or placement in professional and graduate schools. Survey response rates are also provided and available upon request.

Refund Policy, Requirements for Withdrawal, and Return of Title IV, HEA Financial Aid

If a student withdraws or drops a course, VBC will adhere to its refund policy as published in the college catalog. The catalog also contains information regarding the requirements and procedures for students seeking to withdraw. Requirements for return of Title IV, HEA grant or loan aid are also available from the Office of Student Financial Aid.

Types of Graduate Schools

Veritas Bachelor Degree graduates are qualified to enter into Graduate schools of ministry and Seminaries.

Vaccinations

As a private, non-profit institution with no open campus, Veritas Baptist College does not require proof of vaccinations.

Voter Registration

As an online institution, Veritas is not required to supply voter registration information. Students may register in their home state.
