Financial Aid Team Qualifications

    • Maintain a high level of professionalism.
    • Demonstrate organizational skills including planning, time management, scheduling, and meeting deadlines.
    • Oversee financial aid processing, including document collection, confirming, budgeting, awarding, FAFSA verification, and loan certification for college-related programs with the help of Campus Ivy, our third-party administrator.
    • Monitor student Satisfactory Academic Progress for all students.
    • Review financial aid eligibility for students and allocate funds to students accordingly.
    • Provide leadership and direction around processes related to the disbursement of funds.
    • Handle return of title IV process.
    • Demonstrate attitude of quality customer service to students and families.
    • Maintain current knowledge of federal and institutional policies and procedures regulating student aid.
    • Present material related to financial aid and/or VBC to various audiences.
    • Manage processes to allow for efficient and accurate processing of financial aid.
    • Manage processes to allow for efficient and accurate processing of Veterans Benefits and Military Tuition Assistance.
    • Maintain compliance with all regulations.
    • Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures which ensure the successes of all functions of the financial aid awarding process including:
    • Preparing and delivering financial aid awards to students in an effective manner.
    • Collecting documents, budgeting, awarding, verifying students, and certifying loans.
    • Counseling to students and families through each step of the financial aid process.
    • Developing a communication plan for students and families through each step of the financial aid process.
    • Work closely with the Business Office to communicate current practices for student bill payment.
    • Coordinate communication with Admissions, Student Services and Advising to ensure accurate information and to help students make solid financial decisions.
    • Prepare and revise the Financial Aid Manual each year, as well as update and review any financial aid portions of the Student Handbook, College Catalog, website, and FAQ’s page.
    • Take initiative and work well independently, staying on task during work hours.
    • Promote the college in a positive manner.
    • Follow directions and complete tasks accurately, accepting supervisor input with a positive attitude.
    • Work well with colleagues, exhibiting esprit de corps.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the appropriate leader.
    • Must have Fundamentals of Title IV Training
    • Must have Veterans Administration SCO training
